Manhattan Proposal

Rendering of Culver Place housing community in Manhattan, Montana

Housing Solutions is pleased to announce its proposal for Culver Place, a 23-unit family project located in Manhattan, Montana. There’s a great need for affordable housing all over the state of Montana, however nowhere is there more need than in Gallatin County. The County has grown at 2.9% annually from 2010-2017 which is the highest growth rate of any county in Montana. Because Manhattan is only a short 20 minute drive from Bozeman, it has not been immune from the large growth. As a result, the Town has seen rising rental rates and soaring homes prices. We were shocked to hear that even a number of police officers have been unable afford homes in Manhattan and have had to look for living arrangements elsewhere. Culver Place, while far from solving the affordable housing crisis in Gallatin County, would be a step in the right direction and would certainly aid in alleviating the pressure of rising rental rates in Manhattan.

Culver Place will be located, not surprisingly, off of Culver Place in the Farmstead Subdivision almost directly across the street from Taylor Park. The Park includes baseball fields, playgrounds, horse shoes and plenty of open space. The L&F market, Manhattan Bank, Pizza on Broadway, the Fire Department and the post office are all roughly a half mile away with public schools (elementary through high school) only a mile away. This is the perfect location for new family homes.
